My response to the question, Who is the most important person alive today, was to resist a binary conception of gender. I wanted the sentence ―He may share the sidewalk or roadway with you ―to be: Ze may share the sidewalk or roadway with you. Ze is a gender pronoun that is unconstrained by the she-he binary.
